What does the assessment process involve?
Initial testing will determine whether you have the fundamental physical qualities necessary for Para-cycling. Following a successful initial trial, we will discuss the opportunity for a State based trial period, this will involve time spent training as part of your State based Para-cycling program, access to gym and coaching support and the opportunity to join and train with a State based club.
Do I need to relocate to be part of the program?
No, there is no requirement to permanently relocate to be part of the Australian Para-cycling team. You will on occasion be required to attend State and domestically based camps and competitions and a requirement of being a permanent member of the Australian Cycling Team is international travel to camps and competitions. Travel and accommodation costs are generally fully covered or subsidised for these camps/ competitions and if selected to be part of the Australian Cycling Team all costs will be covered.
